Jaime Quinn, B Ed
Jamie is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she received her first degree at Saint Mary’s University; Bachelor of Arts in French. She played 3 years as a varsity Basketball player and then went to the University of Maine at Presqu’isle, USA to complete her goal of becoming a teacher. She spent one year in Halifax teaching English, French, Art and Math at Ecole Beaubassin to grades 5-9.
Jamie is presently a secondary 1 and 2 bilingual social studies teacher that has been at LaurenHill Academy in Ville Saint Laurent since she moved to Montreal, Quebec in 2002. She was hired to teach French as second language and also taught English, Computers, and moral education. Jamie’s interest in teaching sexual health began while teaching Moral education. She is involved with her school’s extracurricular activities through coaching various sports teams, opening a supply Campus Store and trying to help with the awareness of sexual health for students. Jamie is always willing to answer any sexuality questions the students may have during any of her classes and hopes to one day teach sexuality as part of the curriculum. She attended the Sexual Attitudes Reassessment workshop which encouraged her to want more education in sexuality. She is on the sex education committee with her school and is planning the implementation of sex education into all subject areas. |
